The Riding Club of Barrington Hills Sunny Sundays Brunches have been very popular and drawn growing groups of both RCBH members and their neighbors from the surrounding area. These weekly events include a breakfast supported by donations from the attendees to allow both equestrians and non equestrians an opportunity to socialize and meet their neighbors.
Sunny Sundays is typically held at the Hunt House located in the north section of the Riding Center of Barrington Hills, a beautiful and relaxing setting which is part of the Barrington Hills Park District.
During the brunch, there are also frequently activities such as visits from SOUL Harbour with miniature horses and other therapy animals with their certified trainers, equestrian demonstrations, and antique cars for viewing, Occasionally, a guest chef will also add their favorite dishes to the menu. It is a great time and place to be enjoyed by families, children, and anyone that would like to attend.
In 2021, Sunny Sundays was held weekly which made it much more popular because people knew it would be there for them. Most of the preparation was done by Jane Clement and Maggie Topping, with other volunteers and help. Since the preparations for the brunch which hosted more than 75 attendees at times are quite time consuming, we are asking for volunteers to help with the brunches.
Jane Clement provided a plan (now edited by Sally Robinson) which is used each week to prepare for and run the brunch. Click here to see the plan as PDF.
